In the West, it is generally accepted that if you call someone a Dragon, this will not mean that you were given a compliment, but rather that they emphasized your impatience, inflexibility and disobedience. The Dragon holds several advantages within itself, it has shiny scales and represents mighty strength. For his residence, he always chooses inaccessible caves on high peaks or floating in the skies. In these gloomy and dark places, heroes from mythical fairy tales fight him to the death, because Dragons do not forgive those who disturbed their peace. It is capable of spewing jets of fire and the ground beneath it trembles when it begins to move. The Dragon sign unites all the elements at once: it can live underground and is in the air, for this it has wings. He swims well and is not afraid of fire.
A person often associates his rich imagination and fear of destruction or the chaos of non-existence with this mystical animal. The dragon makes you tremble and fascinates. Since ancient times, people have depicted the Dragon on the walls of temples, this is a kind of tribute to the ruler underground kingdom and it is also a spell against evil spirits. In Ancient China, images of Dragons were placed on the roofs of houses as a symbol of protection and patronage.
In the countries of the East, during the New Year celebration, large paper Dragons are carried through the streets, they represent the past year, and at the end they are burned so that, like the Phoenix bird, they are reborn from the ashes. At all times, Dragons have been looked at with great respect and a great sense of horror, since they are an echo of mystery, the human soul and its inner world.
The dragon has always symbolized the last obstacle and test, the decisive stage at the end of the path before the discovery of treasures - it is a symbol of insight and wisdom. A dragon slain by an Archangel can easily turn into a handsome prince. This Dragon is no longer scary at all, but on the contrary, it is too attractive. Dragons are often depicted with a large number of heads, this personifies the diversity of his passions that live in the human psyche, a persistent desire that is present in the depths of the subconscious. For example, if you cut off one head of a Dragon, another will certainly grow in its place, so you shouldn’t pay much attention to them. To defeat the Dragon, you need to get right into his heart, it is their life root. The victory of the Dragon means curbing one's own passions; its death gives a person immortality and invulnerability.
IN Indian mythology The dragon is often depicted as half-animal and half-man, and is considered the ancestor of the people of Kashmir. He is distinguished by his unusual beauty and is very brave; in order to appease him, you need to hang more different decorations on him, because the Dragon loves glitter and gold.
The European Dragon lives in underground world, there he has no restrictions in space. He has luxurious palaces, fortresses and magical gardens. He often walks on earth, he does not always sympathize with people and is an enemy of the gods.
In Legends you can find stories about marriages between Dragons and people; the Druids call it Totem. To this day, Dragons are revered in Kashmir and India. In Christian culture, there is also an idea of the Seraphim; he shares an important place in the hierarchy of the ranks of Christianity, appearing around the throne of the Lord, in the form of various monsters, and very similar to the Dragon. He also personifies the threshold, the border, he is the guardian of the Absolute and he loves when people turn to him in the most hopeless situations.
In ancient China, Dragons were believed to hold truth and good fortune within themselves. He brings wealth and benefits to those who approach him very politely and invite him into their home, only in this case he patronizes people.
THE DRAGON AND HIS LIFE
People born during a thunderstorm under the sign of the Dragon are considered happy; they cannot imagine their life without their beloved freedom, air, and space. In the first half of their life, they may experience various difficulties because these people demand too much from others. Childhood for Dragon people does not always go smoothly; they encounter many difficulties and must establish themselves; their integrity and intransigence create constant problems for them. The Dragon man constantly experiences dissatisfaction due to the discrepancy between his ideals and his actual reality.
In the second part of life, they are often hampered by their artistic nature, they realize that they are higher than their surroundings, and because of this they suffer if they are not understood. But, for the most part, everyone admires them, and often the successes of people under the sign of the Dragon are so great that other troubles against the general background seem simply insignificant. Dragons in old age will definitely be happy if they have achieved what they were striving for, life is gradually finding balance.
DRAGON CHARACTER
In Eastern countries, Dragons are considered a sign of good luck, it is a symbol of life and symbolizes limitless heavenly power. The dragon represents wisdom, but not actions. They charm, go forward and are capable of anything, it seems that they are successful in everything. Dragon people are filled with vitality, and easily endure difficulties and are accustomed to partying in circumstances as if they were playing cards. When meeting them, it is impossible not to smile. They always have a lot of fans who believe in their infallibility.
People born in the year of the Dragon are gifted individuals. They are generous, persistent and intelligent, they are capable of much. And they are used to doing everything very efficiently; these people rarely live in need. And unlike the Rabbit, Dragons can only be recognized in exceptional situations; they are not at all naive like Pigs (Boars), because they have firm and strong convictions, so they are difficult to deceive. Their weakness is everyday life, they easily lose their shine from it, or vice versa - they are transformed into grace. They are straightforward and strong, incapable of scandals, hypocrisy and duplicity, and often lack a little diplomacy and tact.
People born under the sign of the Dragon have many different positive qualities; they are distinguished by their liveliness of character, charged with enthusiasm and very energetic. These people are very pure and scrupulous, they try to do everything right, and, as a rule, they are very successful in doing so. They are not afraid of defeat, because Dragons have been endowed with good health since childhood.
But if the combination of circumstances turns out to be unfavorable, people of the Dragon sign can become irritable and impatient if they do not overcome this vice, which is why they are so demanding of relatives and friends. Such Dragon people have no patience, and do not know how to circumvent difficulties, to be tactful, even if their life depends on it all. They are overly confident in themselves and do not tolerate any doubts, so they cannot understand why others doubt them, because of all this they have difficulties. People born under the sign of the Dragon are idealists and often strive for perfection; they can give up a lot in order to achieve even greater goals. Wanting a lot, these people give a lot.
People under the sign of the Dragon can be irritable and unyielding; they can promise a lot, but often their thoughts precede their intentions. Although they may speak out very harshly, it is worth listening to his opinion. People are accustomed to listening to their advice, which is why their influence is great. It happens that they do not know how to admit their mistakes and are simply rude, but this does not cause protest among those around them. On the contrary, they are full of different admirers who sing their praises. Even if you refuse them, they immediately become categorical and do not back down anyway.
Dragon people are enthusiastic and very proud, their brilliance is blinding. They are irresistible seducers due to the warmth of their inner nature, without them the world would be gray. People under the sign of the Dragon surround their lives with wit, often after the bright euphoria that the Dragon created, it can burn out in the glow of its fire.
It is not easy to organize a fight with people under the sign of the Dragon; it is better when he gives you advice and patronizes you. It's more enjoyable and easier for everyone. It is better to follow his advice unquestioningly, because they are often correct; people of the Dragon sign are almost soothsayers. Many people tend to consider their advice absurd, but even then they can be brilliant.
Everything will go well if this person has a sober mind, but unfortunately, this is not always the case. After all, these people do not use the advice of others that they themselves give to everyone. They warn their friends and loved ones about troubles and danger, but they themselves rush into the pool, without often thinking about the consequences. A person born in the year of the Dragon must remember that he is not a real Dragon, but a mythical animal from fairy tales and legends, and a person is a person. Dragons never manage to achieve complete balance, and many of them try to escape reality and hide.
People born under the sign of the Dragon are smart and know how to benefit society, often flaunting their achievements. In fact, they are not so cultured and educated, but they can be very interesting storytellers. They are not satisfied with minor roles, they were created for the main primary positions and probably because of this they are often dissatisfied with something.
In the East, the Dragon patronizes: wealth, harmony, charity and long life. But every medal also has a downside, and there is some deception here: people know about these qualities of Dragons and therefore believe them, but in fact they believe them because they are Dragons.
During the day they shine and sparkle, but the shine is often superficial, their strength of the Dragon people is illusory. In fact, the Dragon has a rather hidden character; it is a very disguised creature. An animal that exists for carnivals and holidays, they look quite strong. They can be made to release water, fire and even gold. But after the holiday, paper Dragons are necessarily burned, and they must be reborn like the Phoenix in the next holiday.
There are many spots and secrets in the history of mankind that arouse the interest of any researcher. We love everything mysterious and inexplicable. Many creatures: mermaids, vampires, werewolves, dragons...
The first three are still rumored to exist. Did dragons really exist?
Myths or reality?
In my youth, as a student of the Faculty of Philology and studying in detail the mythology of the peoples of the world, I noticed that there are characters and images that are repeated in almost all nations.
They may have different names and be slightly different from each other in appearance, but the essence is the same. This got me thinking about how every fairy tale has a fairy tale element to it. And the rest is a veiled reality.
For example, dragons. These creatures are described in different cultures and traditions, in different countries, on all continents.
European knights fought with them, Chinese emperors idolized them, African sorcerers negotiated with them, Aztec priests listened to them...
A little later I realized a very important thing, which later helped me a lot in life: people's thinking is mythological. And this is not just a desire to believe in fairy tales and miracles, these are echoes of ancient times.
Dragons still attract people's attention. Especially children. When my son was little, he was literally sick of dragons and asked a lot of questions about them.
We bought dragons in the form of toys, pictures, watched cartoons and movies about them, and read books. And at some point I felt that I was also drawn to this information.
Studying encyclopedias and Internet resources, I became more and more sympathetic to these magical creatures and felt more and more connected with them.
Conductors of energies
When one day during a holotropic breathing session I saw myself traveling through Hyperborea, I discovered a dragon there. At first I saw him in a clearing, among huge trees.
It was huge, dark, scaly, on four legs, with a long tail. The ground shook as he moved. And at the same time I was not afraid, I even wanted to touch him.
But in the next moment it seemed to me that I was this dragon. And then I saw how huge streams of energy passed through his body from somewhere above and flowed to the core of the Earth.
Past life as a dragon
When at the Institute of Reincarnation we got to viewing non-human incarnations, I expected to see myself as some kind of animal or even a plant.
Immersed in memories, the first thing I noticed was a strange visual perception: I saw the reality around me as if in a thermal imager.
Everything around was dark, and living beings glowed in different colors. This vision was so strange that I involuntarily “stuck” in this process, forgetting that I needed to understand who I was.
When I paid attention to the sensations in my body, I felt that it was someone big and heavy, even a little clumsy when moving on the ground.
I decided to look outside and realized that I'm a dragon. Black, with membranous wings. Large bone scales, like a shell, covered the entire body except the wings.
There were huge trees around, I was in a clearing and interacted with people. Only these were not people like us now, this was a different civilization: very tall, several meters tall.
It felt like I was exchanging some information with them telepathically, and this information was in images, pictures, and not in speech form.
I didn’t live on Earth, I just flew here, to these people, not to all of them, but to some specific ones, like priests.
During the research it turned out that dragons lived on another planet, near the Earth. Then I thought that it might have been a satellite of the Earth - a small planet of irregular epileptoid shape.
Later I read that the Earth, according to scientists, once had 3 satellites, which then either fell to the Earth, causing natural disasters, or, on the contrary, moved away and disappeared into the depths of space.
The mythology of many peoples also tells about the presence of three moons of the Earth. And there is different versions regarding their origin and disappearance.
In my memory this the planet was in a parallel dimension, because when flying there, at some point I overcame a certain barrier, as if I was passing through plasma, and after that my physical body became just a dense clot of energy.
It was a very strange feeling when crossing the boundary of dimensions - my head was compressed, it became difficult to breathe, and then suddenly an amazing lightness set in.
And during the reverse transition, when the body is condensed to a physical state, a flash of electricity occurs, similar to lightning, and the shell glows and becomes very hot.
It is at this moment that a flame can break out if there are trees nearby. Apparently, this was the source of legends about fire-breathing dragons, burning all living things on the way.
Life of dragons
There were few dragons, and they were asexual; they reproduced by separating an energy clot from themselves. They communicated telepathically, in images.
They lived for a very long time, especially if they flew to Earth infrequently, since these movements took a lot of energy. My request for the date of incarnation received the figure 20 million years BC.
When I looked at the Earth from a flight altitude, I saw 3 continents, and the one I flew to was similar to present-day Eurasia, only larger and extended towards the North Pole, even capturing it.
And in this part of the Earth there was no ice or snow. The second continent was further south, also large, and there was another whole large continent on the other side of the planet.
In that incarnation, I realized that dragons over time simply stopped taking physical form, arriving on Earth because times of persecution had come against them.
Dragon Spirits
However, dragons helped the Earth for a long time, anchoring cosmic energies, served as guides. I was able to see this in one of my incarnations in Hyperborea.
I am a conductor of energy and information between the Hyperborean civilization, dragons and gods. I have long hair - down to my toes.
During my rituals, I put on a white floor-length shirt dress, let my hair down, go into a trance and dance strange dances. I hear the rhythm, as if from huge tambourines, but I don’t see the instruments.
In this state, I simultaneously feel myself in three spaces and can transmit information in three directions. Dragons broadcast special energy to me and the Earth and tell me how to maintain the balance of the planet.
Where did the dragons go?
After my memories of the dragons, I wondered what was happening to them now.
Judging by the information that came to my request, they left Earth long ago and moved to another star system in order to support the newly inhabited planet there.
And on Earth, whales and elephants are now guardians of the energy balance. In addition, in the depths of the ocean there are huge reserves of energy created by dragons and their followers.
More and more people in the world are coming to the idea that for them a dragon is not just an interesting fantasy character. Many see in him a reflection of their best moral qualities, or a protective spirit, or a muse, or a reincarnated soul. By identifying themselves with dragons, they reveal their fan- an internal source of life's joy.
However, being a dragon is not so easy and often not very safe. This document contains the most pressing issues related to being a dragon, or draconianism.

What is "dragon"?
The dragon is a powerful symbol that has spread widely in modern culture and deeply penetrated psychology. However, for the most part it is hidden under tons of myths - and this is by no means about ancient mythology. If you have never delved into this topic, you probably think that this is a huge scaly animal with bat wings that breathes fire, accumulates gold and kidnaps girls, whom brave knights then come for.
This idea is also partly true, but you almost never see it among those who identify themselves as a dragon.
You can imagine a modern dragon if you look at the film “Heart of the Dragon” or the film series “How to Train Your Dragon.” A particularly striking example is found in Pavel Shumil’s book series “The Tale of the Dragon.”
What does it mean to be a dragon?
When someone declares, “I am a dragon,” they are making a connection between themselves and the dragon. This is not always an equal sign. Some people are happy to simply resemble dragons in some of their features, while others are looking for deep spiritual unity. Still others use all the best from the dragon in order to decorate their life and saturate it with vivid experiences.
What “being a dragon” means for each of them is their individual choice.
Identifying yourself with a dragon (dog, stool) is not normal!
This is not a mental disorder at all. Identifying oneself with a dragon has spiritual and ideological significance. By discovering their fan, dragon people discover their inner strength, which helps them overcome difficulties in life and achieve more. When the fan is used correctly, they do well. When it's wrong, they fail.
Whether being a dragon will be beneficial or harmful depends on each individual's choice.
Dragons don't exist, how can you “be” them?
The idea of a dragon as some kind of living creature is a tribute to stereotypes. Many people do not care at all whether such animals are found anywhere or not. The existence of the dragon symbol cannot be denied; you can verify its availability by simply looking at the top of this page. And the symbol has form, that is, its external image, and content, that is, an internal set of certain qualities. If the image is covered with scales and flies over wide mountain valleys, then the content gives strength, courage, sincerity, etc.
To do this, it is not at all necessary that zoologists discover hexapods with wings like those of a bat. Although some believe that dragons exist on Earth, many prefer to believe that dragons come from another world and have a different, spiritual nature.
Why exactly the dragon?
Dragon is:
- a fierce defender of his family, his home, his homeland;
- embodied anger, incinerating enemies;
- the inability to live in a cage and the constant need for freedom for a normal life;
- masterly flight and the joy of creativity;
- unearthly beauty;
- universality, the unification of all elements;
- love for loved ones, the planet you live on, and the entire universe;
- centuries-old wisdom;
- immortality or long rich life;
- uniqueness and originality;
- enormous significance, sometimes to the divine level;
- powerful other, not related to man.
If a person sees any of these qualities in himself or, more often, desires to have them, he associates himself with the dragon.

How to understand yourself
What is a fan?
Different ideas about being a dragon are so different from each other that it is impossible to describe them with one word “dragon”. Everyone's dragon is different. However, there is always some core of “being a dragon”. This fan- internal positive force, representing the active joy of life. Whatever form the fan takes in the worldview of a particular dragon person, it is always his engine towards a bright future.
Depending on what a particular dragon person or dragon(o)fan believes in, his fan corresponds to a dragon soul embodied in a human body, or a dragon power bestowed for merit, or a spiritual assistant, or... the list can be very for a long time.
Although fan represents a positive force, mistakes can lead a dragon person astray. Therefore, self-development and spiritual improvement are an integral part of the lives of many dragonfans.
Why am I so drawn to dragons?
Some people have an inexplicable affinity for dragon themes. It can appear suddenly or grow over time. But even if you feel dragons are your relatives, don’t rush to conclusions. Self-knowledge is not done in a hurry.
Maybe you saw something in the dragon that attracted you in early childhood? Maybe some details of the image or content are important to you in themselves, and only now have you seen them together? What dragon traits do you particularly like? Which pictures reflect your feelings well, and which ones are completely inappropriate?
By looking closely at these issues, you may find that the dragon does not fully express you. Then you won't have to waste time on the wrong road, and you'll continue your search with a clearer idea of what you're looking for.
How can I tell if I'm a dragon?
The criteria for being a dragon vary depending on the role your fan plays in your life. If it is light and superficial, then it is a role-playing game that you are happy to get involved in. The deeper and more serious your attitude towards the dragon, the more severe the criteria you apply to it. For example, a spiritual dragon fan does not recognize a momentary choice, because he himself achieved his being a dragon through long-term self-development. And dragon-fans-realists treat their inner dragon from the position that it is important to them, but they cannot yet explain it in materialistic terms.
You must determine for yourself what “being a dragon” means to you and whether you meet your own criteria for it. A variety of things can help you with this, from magical practices to psychological analysis, and, of course, communication with other dragon fans.
If neither worldview fits and your feelings make you uncomfortable, you may be draconic.
What if it turns out that I am not a dragon?
If you came to this conclusion yourself, this is your step on the path to knowing yourself. However, beware of external labels placed on you. Whether they convince you that you are a true dragon, or, on the contrary, they declare that you do not belong to dragons, remember that when people say the same word, they mean different things.
Consider what set of meanings your own “dragon” has. Do you speak the same language? If not, be careful and give absolute preference to your own opinion.
If you independently determine that your fan does not match the dragon or is completely absent, you may feel very upset. It will intensify during online communication, when your interlocutors want to see you differently than you really are. Just be alone with yourself. Over time, you will understand your feelings, and there will simply be no bitterness left on the right path.
From inside a personal myth
What is a personal myth?
This is your idea of the correct embodiment of your dragon essence. It is based on worldview and feelings and depends on how much you know about yourself and in what way you perceive yourself. It develops with you.
It is called a personal myth because some parts of it cannot be verified with the current level of science and technology, and you have no choice but to believe in them.
The dragon's appearance, history, capabilities, all the characteristic features and even the structure of the universe - all this is placed inside a personal myth, while your human body lives an ordinary life. A personal myth protects against insanity and allows your feelings to be properly expressed, regardless of what exactly you believe. He always accompanies you and at the same time easily disguises your being a dragon when you do not want to tell strangers about it.
However, since it is very individual, to fully understand someone else's personal myth requires a lot of time, attentiveness and trust on the part of the interlocutor.
How to learn more about your inner dragon?
If you are your own boss, then it will not be difficult for you to study your dragon essence inside and out and correct it if you don’t like something.
It’s much more difficult for those who feel enslaved by their own fan. They undeservedly extol the inner dragon and suffer from the discrepancy between it and the outside world. Although the fan does not cause harm in itself, they choose to be suffering dragons. In this case, the picture of the inner dragon can be highly distorted - clear in some places and completely cloudy in others.
Anyone who is honest and open with himself will easily find the key to his fan. This means that self-development plays a huge role here.
How to find out your dragon name?
The dragon name plays a huge role in the lives of many dragon fans. After all, it allows you to transfer a little of your being a dragon into a world in which there are no dragons. And when someone calls you by your dragon name, it means acceptance in a social sense, which is also very important.
While your human name probably isn't the best one for the situation, upon soul-searching you may discover that it's not that bad. Look for a name that matches its shape and meaning to your inner fan. However, beware of hasty decisions: being fascinated by fantasy and anime characters can lead you astray. If you decide that your name is Saphira or Alduin, give yourself time to further search. Almost certainly names borrowed from science fiction are only suitable for nicknames, and even then not very well.
How do I know what kind of dragon I am?
There are a huge variety of dragons: all shapes, colors and characters. Some tests (if they are good) can help determine what is right for you. Feel free to read a lot and observe the world around you. Maybe you will find others just like you, or maybe your inner dragon has a unique look.
However, one should not think that a dragon is any creature named by this word. plays a big role. A "dragon" with two wings and two legs is not a dragon, but a dragon-like creature wyvern. The eastern moon is also not a dragon, although it is in close proximity to it. Together with the amphipterus, dracogriff, basilisk and many others, he is part of the community dragon-like creatures(or dragonoids). The dragon is also included in this community.
If you feel like you're more of a moon than a dragon, don't be afraid to show it. At least then you won't be suspected of stealing princesses :)
Are dragons better than wyverns and moons?
The dragon's morphotype is determined by its four legs and two chiropteric wings (bat-like wings). Other details allow us to confirm that this is a dragon, and not a dragon-like dog or a completely headless winged quadruped.
This does not mean that the dragon is important and special, and all other dragon-like creatures are dull mediocrity. Not at all. On the contrary, history shows that the chimerical serpent, lindworm and wyvern have a richer history, embodied in masterpieces of world culture. And the moon still successfully competes with its young winged neighbor, being an important symbol for a seventh of the entire population of the Earth.
Why are dragons like this?
The stereotype of calling any monster (and, for example, a two-legged wyvern) the word “dragon” is still strong. However, it is easy to get rid of if you remember two explanations.
The first is obvious: a person whose arms were torn off can also be creative, spiritual, respected and have a great success in life, but without a disability it would be better for him. It's the same with the dragon.
The second is cultural: the symbol of the dragon today has such diverse content that only its unambiguous appearance allows it not to disintegrate, but to continue to exist. By using the name "dragon" in the right way, you allow it to live on.

Self-development
How to become a dragon?
Among the dragonfans there are two opposing points of view on this issue. The first is natural. According to it, a person can become a dragon by reaching certain spiritual milestones or completing self-development in some other direction (depending on the specific worldview).
The second is taken from descriptions made by the American bearer of draconism Ted Ramspott (Shoe Cover) regarding his innate characteristics. In part, it says: "One is either a dragon or not, and trying to 'become' is a lot like trying to change gender without proper medical surgery." This is absolutely true when it comes to psychophysiological characteristics, but not for the spiritual side.
In practice, both points of view lead to the same result. Whether the inner dragon is born or awakens after centuries of sleep, it begins to play an important role in the life of the dragon fan. And its further development is the result of a conscious choice.
How to stop being a dragon?
If your identification as a dragon gives you any inconvenience, first of all you should understand what kind of inconvenience it is?
Maybe it's how others react to her? Then it is better to reflect on how you position yourself among them and what their own beliefs are. It may turn out that it would be better for you to find a different environment or change your image rather than give up internal qualities that are important to you.
If you associate your problems with identification, and psychologists and psychotherapists cannot help you, and psychiatrists do not find a reason for treatment, then perhaps you have draconism. In this case, we can only advise you to talk with one of the Azeri dragons; their experience can make your life easier.
How to develop dragon abilities?
Some of the dragon's abilities simply require the right techniques and persistence. And your fan will help you perfectly with this, not allowing you to give in to laziness and fears... unless, of course, you directed him towards self-destruction. It is much easier to develop dragon rage than endurance, and love of freedom is easier than true environmental friendliness. But everything is in your power.
It is much more difficult with abilities of a magical, astral, spiritual, metaphysical nature. They can neither be shown nor verified. If you intend to do just that, choose methods to suit your taste. But remember - there are a lot of charlatans in this area who are either trying to make money (often dishonestly) or giving dangerous advice.
How to get your dragon body?
At the moment, no one has achieved this yet, and it is impossible to name a working recipe.
All ideas on this matter are divided into two categories: spiritual and physical. Spiritual transformation is expected through spiritual development, however, this faces the same problems as developing dragon abilities (see question above). Physical transformation implies the presence of a biological organism of the “dragon” type, and it requires many years of focused research in a number of biological and psychological sciences, as well as cybernetics. If you are determined to achieve physical embodiment, specialized universities are waiting for you.
Dragon and society
Should I tell others that I am a dragon?
Of course, you can't figure out how you are perceived unless you try to talk about being a dragon a couple of times. This is especially important for mutual understanding with loved ones. If your partner categorically rejects your dragon side, the relationship with him can be very difficult.
But choose the right words for the person you want to open up to. Maybe he doesn’t want to hear about “the soul of a dragon in a human body,” but he will happily accept the phrase “the dragon is very important to me.”
If I say I'm a dragon, won't they take me to a mental hospital?
The mere fact that you believe you are a dragon is not grounds for psychiatric hospitalization. In addition, you can consider yourself a Muscovite, a heterosexual, a railway worker, an otaku, or just a good person.
There is a danger of forced treatment only in three situations:
- Your psyche is truly damaged and you need help. But so far there is not a single case known of an internal fan causing a mental disorder. These are two different sides of you, independent of each other. For example, phenylketonuria has nothing to do with self-identification as a dragon. And an adult, independent dragon fan is able to ask for help himself.
- Your behavior frightens the people around you. Maybe you are simply going beyond the boundaries of decency accepted in your environment? However, sometimes these boundaries are so narrow that they are too tight for any sane person, and then the environment needs to be changed.
- You own something valuable (for example, real estate), and your unusual feature is just an excuse for a scammer who wants to take possession of this valuable thing.
What to do with dragon slayers at school?
School society is very conflictual in itself. If you are a student and other students know about your identity, there will definitely be those who will tease you. Don't be fooled. The less you give them reasons to bully, the better.
And the point is not so much in ignoring offenders, but in building good relationships with other people - and this is impossible without mutual understanding. If you behave provocatively or strangely, then no one will stand up for you and will not cool the ardor of the offenders, because you are for others incomprehensible. Find common topics, empathy, be on the same wavelength with those around you, and not a single dragon slayer will do anything to you.
Does the dragon have any special abilities in society?
No. Human society is built for people. The less you fit into it, the less benefits you can receive. Therefore, becoming a dragon in order to stand out and get rich/make friends/become famous is a disastrous idea in advance.
Is there any Dragon Society I can join?
No. People who identify as dragons interact online and in person, and the connections between them reveal a tenuous community. However, it is completely unofficial and does not attract not only a subculture, but even a simple fandom. As soon as you write “hello” to one of them, you have already touched this community. It cannot be called any kind of force (cultural, social, political), it is simply communication.
Is it possible to create a settlement just for dragons?
No. People who identify themselves as dragons have too different worldviews to be able to gather them in one place, build a village and live their own lives. Dreams of such a life, alas, are untenable. And often this is an alarm bell. Do you really want to escape from human society?
The dragon is one of the main characters in Eastern culture in countries such as China, Japan and Korea. Residents of these countries treat dragons as good deities, the main characters of national myths and legends. Well-being, kindness, intelligence, energy - all this in Eastern mythology is associated with dragons. In the "Book of Changes" hieroglyph the Dragon means "sage".
For foreigners, dragons are, first of all, oriental exotica, souvenirs, jewelry, kimonos with dragons, fashionable dragon tattoos and colorful spectacles. The famous “Chinese Royal Dragon Dances” have long been a hallmark of the Eastern New Year celebrations.
It turns out that dragons are clearly divided by nationality and it is very easy to determine which country they are from.
How do you know if this is a Chinese dragon? By the number of fingers. According to ancient Chinese legend, the first dragon appeared in China, and its paws always had five toes.
When dragons began to leave China and travel to other countries, they began to lose fingers. After all, eastern dragons do not have wings and they can only move on foot or by swimming.
Legend has it that a Chinese dragon that traveled to Korea lost one toe on each paw. That's why Korean dragons only have four fingers. If the dragon returned to its homeland, its finger would grow back. Dragons that reached Japan lost another finger. Therefore, all Japanese dragons are three-toed.
Similarly, the Japanese version of the same legend says that the first dragon appeared in Japan, but as neighboring countries - Korea and China - were developed, it grew additional fingers. Well, why not natural selection - straight from Darwin: the more space you have to overcome, the stronger and more stable the limbs!
Of course, Korea has its own version of the legend that real dragons are Korean ones with four fingers. To explore huge China, they needed one more finger, but in small Japan they can move around with three. Vietnamese dragons also have four fingers.
Despite the abundance of versions of the legend, it is believed that the most ancient are Chinese dragons. The classic Chinese dragon has horns, claws and scales, and a series of sharp teeth on its spine. He is usually depicted with a fireball or pearl, which he either swallows or spits out. This is the "dragon's pearl" where his power lies, and it symbolizes the sun.
As for the gender of dragons, it is also easy to determine. The main feature is the shape of the tip of the tail. If the tail ends in a lush fan, this is a dragon. If the tip of the tail is not visible, then the fan may be in one of the paws. Additionally, female dragons have straight noses and more wavy manes.
If the tail has a bone tip, for example, in the form of a pike or mace, it is a male dragon. He needs such a tail as a weapon during battle. In addition, a male dragon may have a club or mace in one of its paws. The male dragon has a short mane and wavy or steep horns on its head.
Now you can easily determine the gender of any eastern dragon and where it comes from.

Conformity tends to self-correct; but those who cannot accept the truth about draconism are often disheartened when they realize how seriously others take it. However, until this point, they can get on the nerves of themselves and those around them, trying to stuff dragons into the Procrustean bed of their ideas of reality, which are unable to accommodate these powerful mythical creatures as anything more than symbols.
After observing this problem for three years, I came up with several recommendations (not clear and precise rules - recommendations!) that helped me quickly determine whether a person is serious or not:
- Those who describe their dragons as too large (measuring them in miles or, worse, in astronomical units) tend to be pretenders (or jokers ;-)). (The original used the word pretender -SK.) All large objects are abstract - in human terms - because they are almost impossible to imagine. Typically, true dragons know how a creature their size feels about itself.
- Those who are more interested in stories and "adventures" than in friendship often turn out to be pretenders. In the dragon community, especially on alt.fan.dragons, there are often literary games where everyone writes their "character" into an endless story created by a large group. Many true dragons are keen storytellers, but they participate in games for the sake of socializing with friends, not for the sake of establishing themselves as a dragon.
- Those whose dragons are not original (ie taken from books, role-playing games, films, etc.) often turn out to be fakes. However, you have to be careful here because you simply cannot judge a book by its cover. Thus, Dragonheart was known on alt.fan.dragons long before the release of the film with the same name, that is, his name has nothing to do with this film. People have asked me if my name was derived from Basil Tailbreaker, Christopher Rowley's character. Did not have. (Shoe cover means "beloved" in the language of my homeland.)
- Those who constantly insist on confirming their draconism often turn out to be pretenders. Of course, the limits of what is acceptable depend on self-esteem, but coming to such a crushing conclusion as draconism is almost impossible without self-confidence sufficient to ignore the skeptics. (In the original - naysayers, literally, “those who say no” -SK.) (And if they don't consider draconism a devastating conclusion, they are either pretenders or Zen masters :-))
- Real dragons have endless energy. After all, pretenders are not playing on their own field, and will gradually move on to those with whom they feel closer. Dragons find their home in the dragon community and work for it for a long time. (Testimony is FAQ.)
- But most importantly, there is something about real dragons that other dragons instantly respond to. Just by looking at one or two posts from a newbie, real dragons can tell how seriously he or she takes draconism. Literally a week after I subscribed to alt.fan.dragons in December 1995, people around me began calling me “old man.” (original, olde fruite -SK) (so on AFD they mean someone who has been there for a long time and is known as a convinced (sincere) dragon). I have seen this happen many times and it is always confirmed afterwards.
