Pilgrims need to go to the metro station "Park of Culture" ( ring) and walk to Prechistenskaya embankment (near the Crimean bridge), where you can queue up and go to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
With an increase in the number of pilgrims, the queue is extended until the intersection of Frunzenskaya Embankment with 1st Frunzenskaya Street (passage from the Frunzenskaya metro station, after leaving the metro, turn right and go through the underpass to the other side of Komsomolsky Prospekt, then go along 1st Frunzenskaya street to the embankment).
If the line grows even more, the entrance to it will move towards Luzhniki; in this case, you will have to go to the Vorobyovy Gory metro station.
Information for pilgrims about the actual length of the queue is available on the website http://nikola2017.ru/, pages on social networks: VKontakte https://vk.com/nikola2017_ru, Facebook https://www.facebook.com/nikola2017.ru/ .

More than a million pilgrims bowed to the relics
The number of pilgrims who visited the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow to venerate the relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker exhibited there has exceeded 1 million people, according to the headquarters of the pilgrimage organization organized by the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC).
“Christ the Savior Cathedral was visited by believers from 142 dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church and a total of 5 federal districts of Russia. During the month of the shrine's stay in Moscow, about 2,500 buses arrived in the capital. There are pilgrims from distant regions who arrive by trains and planes,” the headquarters said in a statement.
IN last days the stay of the relics in Moscow (from July 13 to July 28 they are planned to be exhibited for worship in St. Petersburg), the organizers predict a multiple increase in the number of pilgrims, with the largest number expected to fall on weekends.
Answering a question about whether the Russian Church expected so many people to visit the relics of the saint, priest Alexander Volkov said that, “to be honest, no.”
“Initially, when it became known that the relics would be brought and the period for the relics to be here in Moscow was determined, for some reason there was a feeling that it would take too long (there would be relics. - Note, writes comandir.com. ed.). There was a feeling that now in the first days of the week people would pass, most of them would bow, and then the wave would subside. But we were completely disgraced,” Volkov said on the air of the Vesti FM radio station.
He noted that the flow of people to the relics not only does not decrease.
“We are already predicting that by the end of the relics in Moscow, the number of people will increase significantly,” added the press secretary of the patriarch.
In general, Volkov called the bringing of the relics of the saint to Russia "a positive event on a national scale, from a religious point of view."
What to take with you to worship the relics
The pilgrimage to the relics of St. Nicholas is associated with considerable effort while standing in line. In order to try to get benefit for your soul, it is important to properly prepare for it, to understand how everything will happen.
Being in line is a given that can bring spiritual benefits to the pilgrim. Do not waste time in vain: take with you the text of the akathist to St. Nicholas, the prayer book, the Gospel. While you are waiting, you are already doing work for the sake of approaching the Saint, and he sees and hears you, rejoices in your love and faith. Already in line on the embankment, you can read an akathist, pray in your own words and ask for those who are dear to you and about yourself. As experience shows, time will pass faster, and you will have time to thoughtfully ask for everything and everyone.
The queue runs along the embankment of the Moskva River, it is protected by a fence and divided into compartments. This allows people not to stand behind each other's heads and not to rush: when moving from compartment to compartment, it does not matter whether you are at the beginning of the group or at the end.
While in the compartment, you can sit down in a specially parked bus, lean on the fence of the embankment. Some take folding chairs and foam rugs with them.
With the blessing of His Holiness the Patriarch, all those who lined up before it closes (usually at 18:00) will go to the relics on that day. Accordingly, standing in line, you can no longer rush anywhere and not worry.
When we come to the temple (as, indeed, at any other time), we should have pectoral cross. It is desirable that the clothes correspond to the traditions of Christian piety: for women - a headscarf (cap, hat - it doesn’t matter), a skirt below the knees, closed shoulders. Men have covered shoulders and knees. However, there is no special control in this regard; everyone is allowed to see the relics. If you come to bow to the shrine, and are not dressed in accordance with the above canons, ask God for forgiveness and boldly go to the temple. More important, of course, is not the form, but your mental attitude.
Take care of your comfort as well. If the day is sunny - bring a hat or panama, sunglasses, sunscreen. Due to the capricious nature of this summer, do not forget an umbrella or raincoat, windbreaker. In cold weather, dress appropriately. If necessary, take with you the medications that you regularly take.
In order to ensure safety, we will not allow to enter the queue with: liquids in glass containers, flammable liquids (including perfumes and deodorants), piercing and cutting objects.
If you go to apply with children - think about what to do with them while waiting. The kid cannot stay in prayer concentration for a long time or just wait. It is important that the pilgrimage remains in his memory as a bright, kind milestone in his life. Take a book for the child, a notebook with pencils. Prepare it: retell the life of St. Nicholas, explain what is happening. Explain what he sees in the temple: who are the priests, why are they wearing such vestments, who is depicted on the icons, etc.
You should be prepared for the fact that they are applied to the relics very quickly. This is justified: if you give each pilgrim at least two or three seconds more time, queuing for others will last twice as long. That is why it is worth devoting prayer while waiting in line.
If you want to attach icons, a pectoral icon to the relics of St. Nicholas, take them in advance in your hand and attach them to the side of the ark in which the relics rest, at the moment when you yourself apply your lips to its upper part.
It is better to write notes for a prayer service performed by the clergy at the relics of St. Nicholas in advance (at home or standing in line). You can serve them in the temple - the points for receiving notes and selling candles are located in such a way that you can approach them both before worship and after it.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to see the status of the queue online. All believers who want to venerate the shrine must take a seat in advance in order to enter the temple. The organizers, who gave people the opportunity to touch the right hand of Spiridon Trimifuntsky, ask everyone to take care of preparing for a long stay on the street. You need to take warm clothes with you so as not to freeze. It is also advisable to stock up on the necessary medicines for those people who are core or hypertensive.
On the official website https://spiridon.patriarchia.ru/moskva/, which was specially developed to inform the faithful about the visit schedule, it is indicated that on average, all pilgrims were in line for no more than an hour and a half. Such a flow of people was observed on weekends, so it is advisable to plan a visit to the temple on weekdays.
All believers who want to ask for help from the saint can go to the territory of the temple, located at the address - st. Volkhonka, 15. Opening hours - from eight o'clock in the afternoon to eight o'clock in the evening. The clergy will solemnly see off the ark on October 15 of this year, until 12 noon. People who want to improve their material well-being can venerate the right hand of the saint, since Spiridon of Trimifuntsky is unofficially called the "patron of businessmen."
The relics of St. Spyridon of Trimifuntsky were delivered to Moscow on September 21. Many people want to touch the immortal hand of Spyridon Trimifuntsky, so huge queues gather near the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
You can get to the Temple on any day from 8:00 to 20:00. The official website, which is dedicated to the arrival of the relics in Russia, informs about the rules of conduct in the Temple and near the relics, the length of the queue, and also provides other useful information.
The queue in Moscow to the relics of St. Spyridon
The relics of St. Spyridon of Trimifuntsky were delivered to Moscow on September 21. On the first day, when the relics were opened for believers, a huge queue of people wishing to venerate the relics lined up at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The access of people to the shrine, delivered from the Greek island of Corfu, is organized through the Yakiman embankment and the Small and Big Stone bridges. Along the entire movement of the route, metal fences and tents with food and water are put up.
Many pilgrims came to Moscow from other cities specifically for this purpose and are ready to stand for several hours to touch St. Spyridon in the hope of help and a miracle. The believers brought small chairs and prayer books with them. It will be possible to touch the relics of the saint in Moscow until October 15. After that, they will head back to Corfu.
To get to Moscow, the relics of Spyridon Trimifuntsky have come a long way
A high-profile event for all Orthodox Christians in Moscow, on September 22, 3018, was definitely the opening of a visit to the relics of St. Spyridon in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. This relic was opened for pilgrimage and prayers of believers at 8:00 Moscow time, and the temple with holy relics is open daily until 20:00. For 12 hours a day, queues will gather near the temple, until October 14, 2018, when the relics will be taken further to Orthodox cities and countries
Saints for Christians, the imperishable remains of the preacher Spiridon have traveled quite a long way to get to Moscow, one of the world centers of Orthodoxy. Initially, the priests protecting and transporting the relics of St. Spyridon left the island of Corfu in Greece. It was there that Spiridon of Trimifuntsky was buried and turned out to be incorrupt, who later became one of the most important saints of Orthodoxy.
From Greece to Russia, the relics of Spyridon of Trimifuntsky were not immediately delivered to the capital of the patriarchate and the country - Moscow. First, the relic traveled through the cities and towns of the urban type of Russia, in which there were sacred temples recognized by the world Orthodox community. In the end, Moscow acted in exactly the same way, bringing the relics to the most significant church in the city and, possibly, in all of Russia - the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The relics were delivered there on August 21, 2018, and already on September 22, it was planned to open the temple for visiting and praying before the holy relics.
Opening hours of the Temple, in which the relics of St. Spyridon are exhibited
Starting from September 22 to October 12 of this year, from 8:00 to 20:00, everyone can visit the tomb with the incorruptible remains of the saint of antiquity for free. They try to pray to Spiridon for the most intimate and desirable, as well as for health and recovery from terrible diseases. Since tens of thousands of people have already expressed a desire to visit such an important artifact for believers, to visit the relics, they decided to make such an extensive work schedule, 3 weeks long. However, even it may not be enough, given the volume of the queue that gathered in Moscow on the eve of the first day of the opening of visits to the relics of St. Spyridon.
Route to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior
From September 22 to October 14, access to the relics of St. Spyridon of Trimifuntsky is open daily in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior from 8.00 to 20.00. The opportunity to venerate the relics of St. Spyridon Trimifuntsky in Moscow will be possible for a full 23 days.
To bow to the saint, pilgrims must go to the Park Kultury or Oktyabrskaya metro station and walk to the embankment in the Muzeon Arts Park, from where the passage to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior will begin.
The route to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior will run along the Crimean embankment, Yakimanskaya embankment and the Patriarchal bridge.
The passage to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior from the Kropotkinskaya metro station will be closed these days.
There is no access for organized groups. All pilgrims pass within the general queue. Along the queue there are buses for rest, food points (paid), toilets (free of charge), ambulances, volunteers (in green form "Orthodox Volunteers") are constantly working, who can also answer your questions.
How the relics of St. Spyridon Trimifuntsky help
According to church tradition, even during his lifetime, Spyridon of Trimifuntsky worked miracles. With his prayers, he was able to save from a severe drought or, conversely, from a flood.
The saint always came to the aid of the innocently condemned, and also helped to heal the emperor from a fatal illness. He never refused anyone advice or help.
Spyridon Trimifuntsky continues to perform miracles even after death. People say that if you bow and pray to his relics, then the saint heals and helps believers overcome life difficulties. In addition to mental and physical healing, Spiridon is also approached for financial stability.
MOSCOW, May 22 - RIA Novosti, Anton Skripunov. The queue on the first day of the stay of the relics of Nicholas the Wonderworker in Moscow begins near the Park Kultury metro station. Under the Crimean bridge, volunteers are asked to approach metal detectors with their bags open. Seeing a huge number of people along the entire Prechistenskaya embankment, the pilgrims almost run to the frames.
For the first time in history, the relics left the Italian city of Bari. The shrine will stay in the Moscow Cathedral of Christ the Savior for 52 days - until July 12, where it will be possible to bow to it from 8.00 to 21.00. Then she will go to St. Petersburg for two weeks, and from there she will return to Italy.
Daily access to the relics is provided by 400 volunteers. They stand not only along the line and in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, but also near the nearby metro stations - Park Kultury and Kropotkinskaya. You can recognize them by their bright green jackets, they simply and politely (probably hundreds of times a day) explain where you need to come to bow to the shrine. They also help elderly and disabled people cross the road, patiently listening to their stories.
Several thousand believers formed a many-kilometer line to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior to bow to the relics of St. Nicholas brought from Italy.Along the entire queue, about every hundred meters, there are toilet stalls and green tents where you can buy food and drink. The assortment is modest: buckwheat with sausage, tea, coffee, cookies, etc. The Moscow authorities kept their word - the prices are really affordable. So, buckwheat will cost one hundred rubles, tea or coffee - 30 rubles. The price of water - and the line goes under the sun along the roadway - is 50 rubles.
The experience of previous bringing of shrines is unequivocally taken into account: it is felt that all actions are debugged by both volunteers and the police. Pilgrims are "divided" into sectors of 100-150 people. When free space appears in the next sector, people from the previous one are launched there. Therefore, you can calculate the approximate number of people. In the middle of the day there were clearly no more than five thousand.
Theology in the masses
From Prechistenka you can enjoy a picturesque view of the Moskva River. Because of this, one woman fell behind her family. "Let me (to the next sector), I was just taking pictures!" she cries to the policeman. "No, it's not allowed," he snaps.
Indeed, there are no "VIP passes". Bypassing the line to the relics, you can only get to wheelchair users and the disabled on crutches, and even then upon presentation of a document confirming disability. Mothers with babies also get free access. These groups have a separate entrance. But they also want to get to the shrine as soon as possible in the main queue.
“Let the woman go! She is disabled, we even have a certificate, we came from Siberia!”, the pilgrim in a lemon-colored scarf is indignant. The policeman calmly replies: "Understand, here one in five stands with the same certificate."
"Yes, if I knew that it was possible, I also made a certificate!" - An elderly man in a shabby denim jacket says offendedly. “Come on, you say that! It’s bad to be a disabled person!”, the Siberian woman replies. “Yes, I know everything… I’m like that, just a disposable one!” he cheers.
To pass the wait, someone quietly prays, someone takes pictures of everything around, someone, leaning on the barriers, smokes. Despite the fact that pilgrimage groups from the dioceses will only arrive on Tuesday, today people from all over Russia came to pray to Nikola Ugodnik.
“I came here from Krasnoyarsk on purpose to pray to the saint,” says Tatyana. For this, she and her daughter rented an apartment for a short time. Why she came to the relics right now, despite the fact that they will be taken away from Russia as early as July 28, she explains as follows: "It's hot in the summer, but I still have a course of chemotherapy planned, I want to be on time." She was the one who tried to get through the barrier on help.
“Well, we will stand to the victorious. No wonder they came here because of distant lands,” she says to those around her.
Here a young woman in a stylish checkered dress intervenes in the dialogue: “There are no happy people here, everyone comes here with their troubles. You understand, because when you stand here, to the saint, you are being tested. As you stand here, so you will be rewarded.”
“And I think that such an approach (pilgrimage as a test - ed.) is wrong!”, the grandmother in a gray scarf is distracted from reading the akathist to Nikolai Ugodnik.
“Correct, correct!” objected the woman standing behind.
Staring in crosses
Despite the fact that traffic is limited near the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, there were no traffic jams on Prechistenskaya Embankment from 12:00 to 17:00. One of the lanes is occupied by police paddy wagons. Out-of-town pilgrims are a bit unaccustomed to the noise of cars, but they patiently endure this test as well. When a motorcycle with large speakers drove past the queue, from where one of the songs of the German rock band Ramstein sounded loudly, only a few paid attention to it.
In the queue, knowledgeable pilgrims immediately offer to go online and see all the information about the duration of the stay of the shrine and how, to whom and where to approach. Priests of the Eastern Vicariate of Moscow are on duty along the entire line.
Vicar of the Eastern District of the capital, head of the Synodal Department for Charity of the Moscow Patriarchate, Bishop Panteleimon (Shatov) walks along the entire line. "Christ is risen! Well, how are you here, my relatives, tired of standing?" he asks the pilgrims. Believers approach him for a blessing, they ask something. One man from Taganrog complained to Vladyka about something for a very long time. He patiently listened to him.
“Priests of the Eastern Vicariate are on duty along the line that stands at the relics from seven in the morning until ten in the evening. The clergy (clergy) of the Moscow Regional Diocese are also on duty. They keep order in the queue, answer people’s questions,” the bishop explains.
"Horror Coming Soon"
Already in the very Cathedral of Christ the Savior, believers are asked to stand up in pairs and pray in advance, not at the relics themselves. People approach the ark from two sides without any delay, those who hesitate are politely taken by the arms and led to the shrine.
“We call it the elbow game,” jokes one of the volunteers.
The flow of people moves quite quickly. Today, access to the shrine began an hour earlier than planned - the temple was ready to receive pilgrims after the patriarchal service.
“I stood for about three and a half hours. From half past one. But when you pray, read books, akathists, then on the contrary, everything passes quickly,” the pilgrim shares her impressions on the threshold of the temple.
Someone, just leaving the temple, lingers on its steps to thank St. Nicholas for the passed test. In Russian Orthodox Church more people are expected to bow to the relics of Nicholas the Wonderworker than to the belt of the Virgin - 3.5 million people. Perhaps there will be many more people in the coming days.
“Hello, I’m at the Park of Culture, I’m standing at the relics. When do you still get to see St. Nicholas the Wonderworker? Today there is a long line, but in the next days it will be generally terrible. Think carefully!” One of the pilgrims shouts into the phone all the way .
Believers will have to spend about 6 hours in line to venerate the relics of St. Spyridon of Trimifuntsky in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in the capital on Saturday afternoon, according to a website dedicated to the arrival of the shrine in Russia.
On Saturday morning, the waiting time in line was about 5 hours.
"October 6, 13:00 - entrance to the queue on the Crimean embankment (from the Yakimanskaya embankment). Estimated time of passage to the shrine - 6 hours", the message says.
The relics of St. Spyridon Trimifuntsky will stay in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior until October 14. Access to them is open daily from 08:00 to 20:00. Solemn farewell to the shrine to the Greek island of Corfu will take place on October 15.
